Match Report
Ampleforth College 1st XI vs  Old Amplefordians CC
On: Saturday, 29 May 2021
Venue: at Home

With Exhibition postponed, there was a chance for something a little different on the Saturday of the Bank Holiday Weekend. Staff, students and OA’s were divided up into either Yorkshire or Rest of the World teams.

The ROW started in the field with an excellent spell from Mr Hutchinson. The Yorkshire side regrouped and set a reasonable total following a sensible knock from P. Savill. The run chase started badly with wickets falling regularly and an early finish seemed on the cards. That was until T. Savill, smarting at not being Yorkshire enough despite his father being a born and bred Scarboroughian, came to the crease at no. 10. He proceeded to smash the ball to all parts, particularly off his brother, and had brought the required runs total down to an achievable 20 off 3 overs with the last player in. Alas, he couldn’t keep it going and fell for 73.

A great day had by all and potential for a similar event in the future.
